"Tazkiyah is not about shutting down the engine of life, but cleaning the spark plugs of ego so that the spark of Divine light can ignite the fuel of your deeds into driving force towards Him. Do not hate your nafs, for it is your mount. Hate its rust, for it will stall you in the middle of the desert of waiting."
Introduction: Understanding the Meaning of Tazkiyah
Many spiritual travelers fall into the trap of trying to "kill the nafs" (ego/self). Yet, without the Nafs, humans lose their life force, reasoning power, and capacity for love. In the horizon of SNM, Tazkiyatun Nafs is not self-annihilation, but a process of calibration or purification of the energy installation so that each cable of attributes returns to emitting its original frequency without the obstruction of worldly pollution.
The Nafs is purified so that its conductivity of light is maximized, making it worthy to become a mirror for the True Guide.
قَدْ أَفْلَحَ مَن زَكَّىٰهَا
"Indeed, successful is he who purifies it (the Nafs)."

Transition: The Architecture of the Nafs Circuit to the Body
Before diagnosing the 8 cables of attributes, we must understand how the singular energy from the Nafs (Center of Light) descends into behavior in the Body (Matter). This process works through a systemic hierarchy:
- Nafs (The Source): The energy center that carries the potential of Divine Attributes.
- Qalb (The Circuit): The energy of the Nafs descends to the Heart (Qalb). Here lies the "installation" of the 8 cables. The Qalb functions to divide the complete emanation of the Nafs into 8 frequency pathways.
- Intellect (The Processor): The current from the 8 cables in the Qalb is then processed by the Intellect into perception and action strategies.
- Body (The Output): The final manifestation in the form of actions, emotions, and physical health.
If the installation in the Qalb (the circuit) is dirty or rusted, the energy from the Nafs will not reach the Body purely, but will be distorted into spiritual diseases and chaos in life (Entropy). Tazkiyah is the process of cleaning the rust on that circuit.

1. Diagnosis of the 4 Jalal Cables (Ar-Rahman)
This Masculine Pole is the energy of drive and authority. It is the tajalli (manifestation) of Allah's attributes of majesty in minimal energy.
Cable of Al-Hayyu (Life Force)
Functions as the vitality battery of the body. When dirty, it triggers wild desires or laziness. After purification, it becomes stable pure energy. (Indicator: Saturation of Consciousness)
وَتَوَكَّلْ عَلَى الْحَيِّ الَّذِي لَا يَمُوتُ
"And rely upon the Ever-Living who does not die."

Cable of Al-Alim (Reasoning Power)
Manages logical mapping. When dirty, it becomes cunning and manipulative intellect. After purification, it becomes Wisdom Intelligence. (Indicator: Eternal Consciousness / Anti-Forgetfulness)
وَهُوَ بِكُلِّ شَيْءٍ عَلِيمٌ
"And He is, of all things, Knowing."

Cable of Al-Qadir (Will Power)
The Will Power cable. When dirty, it triggers tyrannical/authoritarian traits. After purification, it becomes just decisiveness. (Indicator: Unlimited Energy)
إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ
"Indeed, Allah is over all things competent."

Cable of Al-Aziz (Integrity Power)
Protects self-worth from being intervened by low frequencies. When dirty, it gives birth to arrogance. After purification, it becomes the nobility of faith. (Indicator: Cool Heart / Anti-Anger)
وَلِلَّهِ الْعِزَّةُ وَلِرَسُولِهِ وَلِلْمُؤْمِنِينَ
"And to Allah belongs honor, and to His Messenger, and to the believers."

This Feminine Pole is the energy of nurturing and gentleness. It is the tajalli (manifestation) of Allah's attributes of beauty in minimal energy.
Cable of Al-Latif (Feeling Power)
Functions as the intuition sensor. When dirty, it makes a person reactive. After purification, it captures the subtle vibrations of Malakut. (Indicator: Universal Harmony / Anti-Pain)
أَلَا يَعْلَمُ مَنْ خَلَقَ وَهُوَ اللَّطِيفُ الْخَبِيرُ
"Does He who created not know, while He is the Subtle, the Acquainted?"

Cable of Al-Wadud (Love Power)
Manages love connectivity. When dirty, it gets trapped in obsession/attachment to creation. After purification, it becomes universal compassion. (Indicator: Love Without Attachment)
وَهُوَ الْغَفُورُ الْوَدُودُ
"And He is the Forgiving, the Affectionate."

Cable of As-Sabur (Capacity Power)
Functions as an energy capacitor. When dirty, it becomes a short fuse. After purification, it becomes expansive patience. (Indicator: Inner Strength / Anti-Sadness)
وَاللَّهُ مَعَ الصَّابِرِينَ
"And Allah is with the patient."

Cable of Al-Ghaffar (Release Power)
The ability to reset (release trauma). When dirty, the soul is shackled by the past. After purification, it liberates the inner self. (Indicator: Empathy Balance / Anti-Disintegration)
فَقُلْتُ اسْتَغْفِرُوا رَبَّكُمْ إِنَّهُ كَانَ غَفَّارًا
"And I said, 'Ask forgiveness of your Lord. Indeed, He is ever a Forgiver.'"

3. Conclusion: The Alignment of the Heart's Orbit
The purification of these 8 cables is not aimed at making humans superpowered or without feeling. Its main goal is Circuit Integrity. Without a clean installation, Allah's guidance will only become a 'burden' that damages the intellect (like the phenomenon of Jadzab in Chapter V).
يَوْمَ لَا يَنْفَعُ مَالٌ وَلَا بَنُونَ إِلَّا مَنْ أَتَى اللَّهَ بِقَلْبٍ سَلِيمٍ
"The Day when there will not benefit [anyone] wealth or children, but only one who comes to Allah with a sound heart (qalbun salim)."

Meaning: "Circuit Integrity" (a Sound Heart) is the ultimate goal of the entire Tazkiyah process in this chapter.
وَالسَّمَاءَ رَفَعَهَا وَوَضَعَ الْمِيزَانَ أَلَّا تَطْغَوْا فِي الْمِيزَانِ
"And the heaven He raised and imposed the balance (Mizan). That you not transgress within the balance."

Purpose: The 8 cables are the "Mizan" (balance) within the human being that must not be imbalanced in any of them.
With aligned cables, the traveler of Nurul Muttashil is ready to be Independent—facing God without needing to rely on a 'backup battery' in the form of a human figure.

لَا حَوْلَ وَلَا قُوَّةَ إِلَّا بِاللَّهِ
"There is no power and no strength except with (the will of) Allah."

This is the essence of Tazkiyatun Nafs: it is not we who purify these 8 cables, but Allah who purifies us. All life force, reasoning power, will, integrity, feeling, love, patience, and forgiveness that flow through these cables are borrowed attributes of His. Tazkiyah is the absolute realization that there is no power and no strength except with His will. It is not we who balance, but Allah who balances us when we surrender.

THE ESSENCE OF THE TENTH CHAPTER
Tazkiyatun Nafs is not about killing the ego, but calibrating the installation of the 8 cables of attributes that connect the Nafs to the Body.
The Nafs is the center of light, the Qalb is the circuit, the Intellect is the processor, and the Body is the output.
When the circuit (Qalb) rusts, the light energy is distorted into spiritual diseases and chaos in life.
Four Jalal cables (Ar-Rahman):
Al-Hayyu (Life Force) — from wild desire to stable pure energy.
Al-Alim (Reasoning Power) — from cunning intellect to Wisdom Intelligence.
Al-Qadir (Will Power) — from tyranny to just decisiveness.
Al-Aziz (Integrity Power) — from arrogance to the nobility of faith.
Four Jamal cables (Ar-Rahim):
Al-Latif (Feeling Power) — from reactivity to capturing subtle vibrations.
Al-Wadud (Love Power) — from obsession with creation to universal compassion.
As-Sabur (Capacity Power) — from short fuse to expansive patience.
Al-Ghaffar (Release Power) — from being shackled by the past to liberation.
The ultimate goal is not superpowers, but Circuit Integrity — a sound heart (qalbun salim).
These eight cables are the Mizan (balance) within that must not be imbalanced.

Yet the peak of Tazkiyah consciousness is realizing:
It is not we who purify, but Allah who purifies.
All life force, reasoning power, will, integrity, feeling, love, patience, and forgiveness
are borrowed attributes of His flowing through these cables.
There is no power and no strength except with the will of Allah.
It is not we who balance, but Allah who balances us when we surrender.
